This recall was triggered by an ongoing investigation into consumer complaints of nails and needles which appear to have been inserted into potatoes.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings. As tampering is a criminal offense, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are leading the investigation into this matter.
The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace.
There have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of these products.

I saw this on the news yesterday and returned a 10lb bag of Farmer's Market Russet potatoes to Loblaw in Collingwood this morning. They didn't know anything about the recall!! I think the head office needs to get with it!!
